Guna Technology was incubated at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2022. Over the past 30 years, HKUST has built up strong capabilities in a wide range of "deep tech" fields, including health technology, artificial intelligence, new materials, and financial technology. Since its establishment, it has incubated more than 1,747 start-ups, 9 unicorns, and 12 listed companies. According to the journal Nature's ranking of patent impact, HKUST ranks first in China and 33rd in the world.
As the current head project of HKUST in the incubator pool, Guna Technology is developing rapidly and steadily. The company is an enterprise with core independent intellectual property rights, focusing on multi-functional films, which can be widely used in new energy, medical and other fields.
Since its establishment, the company has been selected into the list of top 100 hard technology enterprises for cultivation, and has been included in the storage of nanotechnology enterprises, and has won the gold medal of the special commendation of the jury of the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, the third prize of the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the annual champion of the Hong Kong Science and Technology One Million Innovation Competition. At the same time, the company has received hundreds of millions of yuan of investment from Zhen Fund, Guohai Innovation Capital, and government guidance funds.
